Dr. Karen J. Sooley is a recognized counterintelligence subject matter expert and strategic risk advisor with more than 30 years of federal law enforcement and national security experience, including 18 years in leadership roles overseeing complex investigative and operational teams. During her distinguished career as an NCIS Special Agent, she conducted and led thousands of investigations and operations across domestic and international environments designed to protect personnel, critical assets, and sensitive technologies.

Dr. Sooley is recognized for her expertise in identifying vulnerabilities, defining and addressing complex threat environments, and delivering disciplined, actionable mitigation strategies. She has designed and implemented enterprise-wide insider threat and workplace violence prevention programs, as well as vendor vetting and supply chain risk frameworks that safeguard high-value organizations and emerging technologies.

She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Department of Defense Counterintelligence Special Agent of the Year Award for an operation she crafted against a top adversary of the United States. She holds a Doctor of Business in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Arts in Education for Social and Political Sciences, and a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration.
